Project Description
Do You Have A Project We Can Help With?
Texas Wesleyan University
Texas Wesleyan University partnered with The Way Companies on a campus-wide infrastructure redevelopment performance contract. The project is self-funded, and over the fifteen year term of the agreement will save over $12,000,000.00, which will be used to fund the campus improvements.
Texas Wesleyan was using Band-aids, such as window units in multiple buildings, to correct the fundamental problems it was suffering from. Old and inefficient mechanical equipment could be found throughout the 74-acre camps, such as antiquated pneumatic control devices and pressure stations, inoperable outside air dampers and variable frequency drives, and energy wasting 3-way valves.
The project developed by The Way Companies is a comprehensive infrastructure redevelopment program that utilizes combined, heat & power technology to generate electricity for the campus. New chilled and hot water pumping systems, new heating boilers, and piping and valve improvements were also performed. New HVAC controls were installed in (16) of the buildings and integrate to one single platform. Additionally, (1,559) interior & exterior lighting fixtures were upgraded, improvements to (1,290) toilets, urinals, faucets and showerheads were performed, new “Smart” irrigation systems were installed and computer load management integration of (1,355) campus computers.
