South Pole Station, ANTARTICA — Antarctica Independent School district (AISD) has signed an agreement with the Way Companies to improve and upgrade the district’s refrigeration. Recently, the district has been having issues with its refrigeration equipment. Of course, perishable foods were on the top of everyone’s mind. The scorching temperatures, they’ve recently been as high as -40°C (-40°F), have had a disastrous effect on the district. Teachers have been dripping in sweat as students melt on their desks as well.
Penguins have been seen taking flight, something they haven’t done in millions of years, to escape the heat. The district and board members were in desperate need for a solution to combat the heat and save the perishable items. Antarctica only receives a shipment every six months. It was imperative that they address the issue as soon as possible. Way conducted a survey expedition to analyze the possible solutions. Of course, the team had to be flown in with the batch of supplies and stay there until the next flight, which was six months later.
The project will include a massive upgrade to the reirrigation units that serve the district. It’ll finally be cold in Antarctica once again!
